Conference registration from 3:00pm in Rothe House at at Castle from 5:20pm.

4:00pm           Conducted tour of Rothe House and restored late mediaeval gardens

6:30pm           Formal conference reception  hosted by Kilkenny County Council Chairman, Cllr Matt Doran, Venue: Kilkenny Castle (kindly facilitated by OPW)

7:30pm           Conference opening lecture: The Miller/ Robertson collection in the RSAI, Lecturer: Con Manning, Past President RSAI

Saturday 8th

10:00am          Lecture: Impressions of an early 19th century visitor to Kilkenny, Lecturer: Dr Angela Byrne FHEA, Lecturer in History and Programme Leader, MA History, Politics and Social Science, University of Greenwich, London
Venue: Chapter House, St. Mary’s Cathedral

11:00am           Coffee

11:30am           Conference key note address: John Bradley’s research on Anglo-Norman Ireland, Dr. Kieran O’Connor NUI Galway (Facilitated by The Heritage Council)

12:45pm           Lunch

2:15pm             Our national heritage – problems and aspirations, Dr Pat Wallace, Director Emeritus, National Museum of Ireland

3:30pm            The walls of Kilkenny, Lecture followed by short walking visit to the remaining gate led by Cóilín Ó Drisceoil MA, Director Kilkenny Archaeology

5:00pm            The walk concludes at Rothe House
